This is my final entry into the competition this week. I hope you like it.
Taken with a Sony A7RM2 with 16-35mm
I took this again at Crystal Pier Pacific Beach, San Diego. It had rained the night before. When I arrived at the pier there was this huge puddle of still water on the sand. I guess sometimes the beach crews rake or bulldoze the beach before a storm to protect the walls from waves during high tide. This created a little dip in the sand, where all this water collected.
I go to this beach a lot to shoot and when I see something different. I get very excited. I went right to it and started to figure out how to incorporate it into my image. I found my spot and composed. I wanted the sunset, pier and the clouds reflections from the puddle. As I shot, I was afraid people would not be able to distinguish between the puddle and the beach. I can't have an explanation attached to my image for people to understand what was going on.
Then like everything else. The Photog Gods blessed me with some luck. A runner on the beach came cruising right into my frame. Bazinga!
Got him right where I wanted him. His reflection solved all my issues and really pulled the image together.
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend everyone!
