Do you have favorite songs revolving around a topic which is special and close to you? I am certain that you have.
Well, my special topic is running and there are some great songs which include running or run in their titles and lyrics. These songs are not necessary for recreational running. Most of the time people run away from something. But they are still wonderful running songs.
Let us start with Bruce Springsteen. You all know him. Do you know that he is “Born To Run”?
The Angelic Upstart, Northern Irish punk band understood how it is to be a runner. Listen to their “Loneliness Of A Long Distance Runner”:
The video makes you think too. Hunting as a sport? Cruelty and killing as a sport? Unthinkable, sad but true.

During British electro-pop era A Flock Of Seagulls had a great song with “I Ran”:
There are more great songs about running but I will stop here.
No, I don’t listen to the music during the runs. If you need an MP3 player to keep you occupied. At the same time, you don’t listen to the wonderful sound of nature you are running through.
