Oh boy oh boy ... I have been keeping a secret from the Steemit community for far too long ... I am very excited to announce that we are expecting our first child (it's a boy) in May 2018.
Come think about it, my unborn child is as old as 's baby (a.k.a. the Steemit Sandwich Contest). And, I am proud to share that my little boy actually grew up eating all the sandwiches I had made so far for this contest.
On a more serious note though, I am both excited and scared. Obviously, excited because we are having a child. But scared because as first time parents, I fear that I do not know enough to know what I don't know.
Perhaps, my fears come from the fact that I did not grow up in a stable family. As a child, I had lived in many homes/countries and was bounced back and forth like a ball. My childhood basically made up of my little backpack and suitcases and always adapting to a new surrounding.
Eventually, we did re-unite with our mother but we did not see her much and it was our nanny who took care of us, very good care of us indeed. Therefore, I feel that I do not know how to be a mother, but maybe a nanny, lol ... of course, raising a child is more than being a nanny, right?! I know that much at least, haha!
I also know that materials mean nothing, my childhood friends often envy me having the nicest clothes, toys, pencil cases, the yummy lunch boxes and the summer travels. But, I envy them having the nicest parents who hold their little hands.
I hope and pray that life will teach me how to be a good parent. I do not expect anything from my boy, I just want him to be 100% healthy, 200% happy and 300% funny!
Please send me any mom's and dad's jokes or tips you want to share with me. I would love them!
Or, even if you are not a parent, do you have any nice stories to share about your parents so that I could learn from them?!
I am also looking at you and hoping you could give me advice on how to raise a healthy, happy and funny boy :)
