100 Days of Poetry Challenge
-----Update [Day 13]-----
Winners of Days 7 & 8 Announced!Introduction
Greetings everyone. Welcome to the Day 13 update along our 100 day poetry journey. Day 13 will be beginning as of 6 PM GMT on March 19. Our live poetry class in the Steemit School Discord will begin at that hour as well, lasting until 8 PM GMT. All interested in learning more about poetry are welcome to attend, not just participants in the challenge. Towards the end of our class we recite poetry for each other, so feel free to bring something in to read!
Changes to challenge operation & reminders
On Saturday & Sunday we took a break from meeting in the daily poetry class. It is my intention to take weekends off from meeting to get other things done. Going forward, we may have classes on weekends hosted by others, so stay tuned for that information! Otherwise, things largely remain the same! Now that the hype has died down, are you focused on what you wish to achieve during these 100 days? Hard, consistent work may not be glamorous, but it is effective at encouraging long term growth!

Class recap
We didn't meet on Saturday or Sunday, but on Friday we reviewed many basic aspects of poetry that we have covered in the first 10 days. We went especially into the topic of writer's block & artistic inspiration for a while and heard some different perspectives there. I reiterated my philosophy that writing is not different from any other craft such as farming or carpentry. One must get rid of myths and excuses regarding inspiration/ability to produce to become prolific, a characteristic of the majority of our beloved artists who stand the test of time. Of course, we heard other views as well, including the idea that to force writing is harmful.
We also discussed many strategies that may help when feeling creatively "stuck." The common thread running through them seemed to be to somehow change your approach in order to get past the obstacle. We also heard many poets read their pieces at the end which was fun as always! Today we will have another general class to take more questions about poetry fundamentals which we weren't able to get to on Friday. Come join! Class runs from 6 PM - 8 PM GMT. https://discord.gg/yZvYjfM
