100 Days of Poetry Challenge
-----Update [Day 16]-----
Winners of Days 11 & 12 announced!Introduction
Hello poets and poetry appreciators! Welcome to our Day 16 of 100 update. Day 16 began at 6 PM GMT on March 22. If you can believe it, we are now 1/6 of the way through our journey!
Changes to challenge operation & reminders
This challenge was designed to work best for those who can take initiative and are self-motivated. If you are not following the guidelines, have skipped more than 3 days in a row and have not contacted me to explain your situation, are trying to post for past days after they have ended, etc. you have been removed from the official running. This is only in relation to the daily prizes, so of course all are welcome to participate in our classes each day in the discord! In other words, do not expect me to come to you and say "you have been removed from the challenge." It is your responsibility to follow the guidelines set forth and keep up with the updates. Also, if you attend classes you will be up to date with everything happening. A huge shout out to all the participants keeping up with this ambitious undertaking. You are awesome!
Winners
Day 11 & 12 winners are announced! Getting caught up a little more. I'd like to try to stay within 3 days of the posting, eventually, so there is time for people to check out the winners and vote on them if they'd like.

Class recap
Today's class was very exciting as we had guest teacher lead our first session of "Critique Thursday." Many myths regarding to the oft-misunderstood art of critique were cleared up. We have a recording of the class which can be found in this post by @geekorner, so I will not provide too detailed of a synopsis at this juncture since you can check the class out for yourself if interested! However, I will mention we heard an explanation of the difference between editorial critique and impressionistic critique, the former being a more in-depth scrutiny of an unpublished piece and the latter a more holistic approach to a more finalized or already published piece. We looked at a few pieces in class which I will link to tomorrow once
makes his official post. We are planning to do this on a weekly basis, so bring your pieces that you want feedback on during class on Thursdays and we will do our best to get to it!
Tomorrow's class topic will be motivation. It will be broader class, not just regarding poetry but art and life in general. Please come take part on March 23 from 6 - 8 PM GMT. in our Steem schools live class: https://discord.gg/yZvYjfM
Workshops / Special Events
No workshops or events are currently announced. If you are interested in holding one in the future, please let me know!
Gratitudes & reflections
As I mentioned before, this challenge was designed to be a bit of extra fuel for those wanting to take their poetic practice to the next level. It works best for those already strongly motivated in this area, as it requires a lot of perseverance and grit to maintain the perpetual motion of daily creation, editing, and sharing.
In life, YOU are the only one that can make the decision to pursue greatness. Yet, as a community, we can also band together with others who have chosen this path and watch our resolve grow ever stronger day by day. Although we have many differences, it is what we share that is most precious.
In my experience, these sentiments seemingly idealistic are capable of being manifested. It doesn't matter whether one is an optimist or a cynic. Self-definitions fall by the wayside in the face of actualization. Life is quite mechanical in its operation: consistency & discipline work for all alike, when practiced properly.
