Hi guys, it's Day 7 of the 100days Steemit School poetry challenge by . I almost missed today's entry but i couldn't afford to. I've been on the road all day, the traffic was hectic. But thanks to that I got my inspiration for today's poem.
In the traffic jam today, a begger came begging towards the bus i was in, and to my surprise no one could give a token. That felt really disheartening.
I found out the major thing killing humanity is SELFISHNESS. No one wants to give a piece of their wealth, their love, their emotions. Neither would they let out a piece of their knowledge.. I hope people will change and make the world a better place for everyone.
Here is my entry for day 7.
Tight Hands Never Makes You Richer
Why are you so selfish?
Bent in your will as the crayfish,
Self-centered and egocentric
Always being empiric.
Sour as the grapefruit,
In nothing ever grateful.
Always right and others wrong,
To you all things must belong.
The selfish receives but hardly gives,
Neither does he appreciate others gifts,
Tramples on people's rights
But ready, in self defence to put up a fight.
The selfish is like a passing shadow,
Once at the exit, he becomes extinct:
Be cheerful and free giving
That your sweet memorial may linger like music.
