Well
Hive account@toofasteddie is showing his experience in the game this time around and is out to a commanding lead. But has he overcooked it? He's almost at the bottom of the Tip Track, will he still have the legs to get up and down it before the other runners catch him?

| Pos | Name | Distance | Details |
| 1 | Hive account@toofasteddie Bib: 3 | 44.07kms | Gels: 2 Health: You passed through an aid station and this replenished your supply of gels - adding 2, let you rest a bit, reducing your fatigue, Weird stuff happens on the trails You feel a buildup of gas inside you. You know not to trust a fart at this stage of the race so you try to hold it in, and end up going put-put-put down the trail. |
| 2 | Hive account@len.george Bib: 5 | 37.84kms | Gels: 4 Health: You passed through an aid station and this let you rest a bit, reducing your fatigue, Weird stuff happens on the trails You struggle your way through an overgrown section of trail. The branches claw at you, stripping 1 gel from your race pack (if you have one). |
| 3 | Hive account@soluce07 Bib: 6 | 37.55kms | Gels: 4 Health: You passed through an aid station and this let you rest a bit, reducing your fatigue, Weird stuff happens on the trails You spot some gels another runner has dropped. The packets are still sealed. Bonus! |
| 4 | Hive account@amico Bib: 1 | 36.81kms | Gels: 1 Health: You passed through an aid station and this let you rest a bit, reducing your fatigue, Weird stuff happens on the trails There are some brightly coloured mushrooms growing on the side of the track, intrigued, hopeful, you take a little nibble. Nothing happens. The little pixies on the branch by your head say - "See, we told you so.", |
| 5 | Hive account@karenb54 Bib: 2 | 36.13kms | Gels: 0 Health: You passed through an aid station and this let you rest a bit, reducing your fatigue, Weird stuff happens on the trails Your shoelace comes untied and trips you up. You fall flat on your face in the mud. It doesn't do any damage, but you feel like a right idiot. |
| 6 | Hive account@plankstoplanks Bib: 4 | 24.60kms | Gels: 3 Health: You have decided to walk for a while. This reduces your fatigue and settles your stomach a bit, so you can then start running again. Weird stuff happens on the trails Some spectators cheer you on, calling out your name and telling you you look awesome. It makes you feel good so you pick up the pace. |
Comentary
The runners are bunched up just behind
Hive account@len.george with #karenb54 putting in a good burst to catch the pack.
Hive account@plankstoplanks is trailing the field, but with much better health now, could quite easily catch the bunch on the next turn.
Everyone is starting to feel the effects of pushing hard, and now the strategy game comes into play.
Do you continue to push hard and hope you don't blow up?
Do you run conservatively and try to manage the damage?
Do you rest a turn and then blitz past the whole field in the race to the finish?
We'll find out later on this evening when I put up the next post.
