Today on my diary of a musician. I want to discuss lessons I learnt especially when I have a concert that lasted for 4 days and I had to sing all through.
The Photo above shows one of my performances in Black and blessed 9 International conference that lasted for 4 days and I had to sing all through ( Morning & Evening session)
So I learned that
YOU HAVE TO MANAGE YOUR VOICE. : In as much there is no time for second impression does not mean you will have to loose your voice on first performance. Here you have to give your best but yet conserve your voice because you still have work to do ahead.
LEARN TO WORK WITH A TEAM:
You need to be a team player and not run a "one man show" now I had to work with a team of good singers as my backups; they did not only play the role of backups but I delegated solos to then to help relieve the work load.STEP DOWN YOUR PACE BUT STILL MAINTAIN YOUR ENERGY.:
One thing you must learn as a musician is not to bore your audience. Remember they have been seeing you always and you dont want them to get used to you, and you can agree with me that your strength might be going down and your voice probably low owing to the fact that you have been performing consistently for 3 days. You have to step down your pace by reducing the key signatures of the songs you are performing so that you don't go on high notes and your voice cracks that won't be good but still maintain the tempo and the energy of the performance.
I hope this post helped you, do ask your questions and make your comments.. I will still write more posts on #diaryofamusician .
