Hi everyone. I'm posting this from Steemleo! I was fortunate enough to get an airdrop of 1422 LEO due to my stake in PAL. It's not everyday you wake up to some free tokens :) I have staked my airdrop and I plan to contribute with content that is relevant to the platform.

What is dust?

Dust is the smallest amount we can send and this is 0.001 STEEM. We usually receive these from bots as messages in our wallet as spam or confirming a related transaction on the blockchain.

What do we do with dust?

I'm a person with OCD tendencies, so I'll either round up my liquid STEEM by powering up or sending it as a bid to a bidbot (I'm only a minnow...)

My little bot

I decided to write a little bot using the steem-bot library. It monitors my wallet for dust and then sends it as a gift to my daughter's account (Hive account@principal8). She can then power up her account (albeit very slowly!).

Where to next?

Now I was thinking...what if we collectively pooled all our dust somehow and then used it to help other minnows by means of upvotes or SBI shares (Hive account@steembasicincome)? Does that sound like a feasible idea? I would be interested to hear what you think. I am placing a Hive account@steem-bounty on this post to encourage thoughtful comments and ideas.
