Were is this heading?
First of all, I want to point out that this post describes my concerns about the recent events here on the Steem blockchain and the purchase of Steemit.inc by 
Ok, here we go, about two weeks ago we all got surprised by the news that Just "Tron" Sun bought Steemit.inc. We were even more surprised with the statement made by him about moving the "Steem" token over to Tron, with a swap or some sort. Then there was an AMA on Dlive with Justin Sun and Ned Scott, that sort of made the dust settle and created a more or less positive vibe over here.
About a week later, Justin Sun used a stake that wasn't intended to be used to vote for 3 superrepresentatives over on Tron. This was seen by our top 20 witnesses as a dangerous precedent and they answered by freezing the freshly bought stake of Steemit.inc through a Soft Fork.
That sums it all up in a few sentences.
Now here comes my question. Where is this heading? Is this going to end in a complete war between the witnesses and Justin Sun? Or is the dust going to settle for good, and can we finally try to make steps to make this a better place, and even more, a richer place?
Concerned
I must admit, the emotions I have with especially the last part where the witnesses froze the stake of Steemit.inc, are not happy ones. They are emotions of fear and concern. I truly hope we didn't kill Steem. And I use the word "We" on purpose. Because WE voted for the witnesses, so we gave them the right to do this. This place works like a democracy. The witnesses with the most Resource Credits voted for them have the right to take these kind of decisions. So in fact, we the voters are responsible for this. Even if we don't like it.
Why am I so concerned? Not that I have invest a ton of money. But loads of time. My current stake is just around 4700 Steem, which I mostly earned through posting and curating over the course of 2 and a half years. Yes, two and a half years. That is what I have invested in this, time and emotion. Because I like this place more than I hate it. So, I am concerned, that the steps that were taken, will kill it. And that would be such a shame. This place can thrive. But for that, the witnesses and the biggest stakeholders have to have faith in each other. Which is currently lacking big time.
What do I hope for?
I hope deep in my heart, that when the top 50 witnesses and Justin Sun meet on March 7th, they will come to a consensus to make Steem a better place, a place that can attract big and small stakeholders. A place were it is fun to interact. I hope this meeting is not about power, and who has the biggest balls. Because, that is what in my opinion is happening right now. We need consensus for a forward course.
A course that maybe, like in my wildest dreams, makes me a wealthy man from Steem, and makes me able to buy my so wanted Tesla... But if that is not the case, I won't be mad, I will settle for way less too, but at least give this place a shot at it, because I truly believe you have a rough rock in your hands that could become a diamond sometime!
