Well, a bit more about me and Haiti- Contrary to popular beliefs, Haiti is a great place to live!
Im Katyana, I moved back to Haiti 2 years ago because i wanted to get away from the fast life of N.Y- ( I was born in Haiti actually- but moved to N.Y at the age of 16) and mostly because I wanted to feel that i was being part of change while helping my native country. It is not easy- some days i miss the convenience of living in the U.S- we don't even have a movie theatre here. I miss going to the movies sometimes!!! ugh... But then, you get used to it- You come to realize that you can survive with less.
But what makes Haiti so great? it's free- it's wild-it's beautiful-its warm, it's organic, it's raw, its lively, It's unpredictable and more. You learn to care more about people and less about things... You become resilient, you become strong and you become grounded.
I SAY- If you can make it in Haiti, you can make it anywhere! Forget about making it in NY :)
