Let's start this post with the cherry on the cake: Hive account@arcange gave his designer a very hurried job so he could hand out our newest Hive account@steemitboard badge! :D I'm super proud to add this one to my collection. It carries good memories :-)

Travels

Last Friday I got picked up by Hive account@pundito after which we went to pick up Hive account@brittandjosie - Hive account@pundito left his dog, Hive account@brittandjosie arranged dozens of things to be able to leave her family, and I left my laptop (my boyfriend is already getting used to me leaving) because I already knew we wouldn't have time for that ;-)

On an incredibly sunny day we drove to Aachen, which is super close to both the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxemburg - pretty much perfect for a North-West Europe meeting of Steemians :D

Food

We dropped some drinks and food at Hive account@detlev's party location (a bbq and a terrace on a sunny spring day!) enjoyed a bit of Aachen, and then the fun began!

Hive account@detlev's wife Hive account@sunsea prepared some amazing food and Hive account@detlev was our BBQ master for the evening: all tasted amazing! Meat in 'nice sauces' ("I don't know what special sauce this is but it's good", Hive account@detlev assured me, and he was right!), bread, potatoes, veggies and amazing grilled cheeses - It all was very very enjoyable, all the while talking with awesome Steemians of course!

Talks

As I organized two very informal but well-attended meet-ups before it was interesting to see how Hive account@detlev does it - so I can learn :-) After dinner there was time for... talks! A very nice presentation screen, a great recording camera and even a live stream for those who were okay with that :-) I'm going to write about a few of the points I learned from Hive account@reggaemuffin, Hive account@suesa and Hive account@sorin.cristescu later this week - such bright minds with such passion and insight into our Steem Blockchain! I was happy to be able to listen to them share their knowledge :-) And I'll have to find me a nice room with some presentation equipment for the next Rotterdam meet-up as well!

Hive account@detlev did some practicing on being a host at SteemFest3 so he was ready for this night :D

Hive account@reggaemuffin is doing amazing stuff with Hive account@tokenbb and Hive account@buildteam - Hive account@suesa had to remind him to talk more about it many times :D

Hugs

So. Many. Hugs. It remains the highlight of any Steem meet-up - all the smiles and laughs and hugs. Hive account@arcange is always up for hugs, but this time Hive account@suesa broke all records - she really means it when she says she loves hugs! I think I found my equal :D Quality hugs also come from Hive account@reggaemuffin, these two make a perfect couple I'd say <3

Sleep

Not enough because we had a nice extended beers and talks and the checkout didn't have much margin. But in two separate beds (I warned Hive account@brittandjosie she would be kicked out of hers if we had to share one bigger one :D) I actually did sleep after taking some pain killers - the walk from Aachen was only a day after the recovery day I wrote about past week, so yeah, that kicked in even though we kept the walk short and used a taxi for the longest part to the meet-up location.

I slept well last night though - still smiling from an amazing meet-up.
