Wow, the long awaited Season 3 from Steem Monsters has started and I played a series of games, long enough to escape the Novice status. Hey, don't laugh, I'm no longer a novice, I already played it for two weeks or so, lol!
In the screenshot above you can see the new enemy matching system, and each deck must be adapted to the enemy, the combat rules which are different from fight to fight, and the mana cap, also not the same from one fight to the next.
If we through in the time limit, the new gameplay is super fun!
While in the novice ranks, I wasn't able to use my level 2 summoners and monsters, and no, I didn't have their level 1 counterparts too. That sucked! I can only imagine how frustrating it must've been for top leagues players, if they forgot to have level 1 summoners. But leveling the playfield after this switch in the gameplay seems much more important than minor inconveniences that will soon be gone for experienced players.
Now off I go for more battles!
