I thought I had blown my chances on any prize in yesterday's Mega Monster Mash 2 - tournament, but obviously, I was wrong...
Gold Foil Tournaments
My gold foil deck is far from complete. I do not own a single legendary, for example. And there are many more cards I miss. Still, I thought I should try my luck in 2 of yesterday's Mega Monster Mash tournaments.
The first one I entered was played at novice level, but I got kicked out in the 2nd round by 
The second one was played at bronze level, and to my own surprise, I made it through the first two rounds.

I left the tournament and went back to what I was doing before the tournaments started.
It wasn't until this morning that I opened my account and noticed I had received a gift from 
A shiny, gold foil Silvershield Palladin had been sent to me.
Market value of this bright and shiny card: $4.50 or 15.744 Steem.
I went over to the Challonge site to see what I had done to be rewarded with this card. Apparently, I ended up in 5th place in the overall ranking, which I had definitely not expected.
Since I really believed I had lost yet another tourney, finding out about this was extremely satisfying.
And it gave me some motivation to keep trying, and to keep practicing.
It was exactly what I needed.
