Yesterday I quickly moved from low-level gold 2 to a short jump to diamond 3 in Steem Monsters .
I had a current challenge to win 5 cards in Death splinter (my Death splinter cards are weak).
My plan: accept the losses, the ground could be gained back quickly after all and use only Death Splinter until the challenge was achieved. The reward cards would be really good right?
I ended up losing 19 times (12 of those were in a row). I kept hoping an opponent would drop out of a game and maybe I would win by default but that did not happen.
My points plummeted from a respectable 2595 to 1901. I missed hitting silver again by 2 points. A 694 point loss.
I finally did win the required matches but the reward cards won were nothing to talk about.
I am back into gold II territory and should be back to gold I or maybe diamond before the tournament is over but what a dumb thing to do on my part!!!!
Remaining in gold I and just holding on would earn me 30 cards. Plummeting to the almost bottom chasing 5 mediocre cards is not a good strategy at all. HODl if you can!! Lol
Don't be tempted to do what I did. Falling so far I learned took some of my higher monsters out of the fight and I have to use the second string counterparts to work my way back up.
