You may know Splinterlands as Steemmonters rebranded for a wider audience.
Now I have to ask you. What kind of a return do you want on your money?
Let's run some numbers.
I'm not much of a player anymore. Although the game is very addicting and I have won a good deal of money in the tournaments, I just don't have the time to play as I used to when I was a working man. I would come home from work and before bedtime I could play for a few hours.
I won't say I was good. But, I was happy with my progress.
I amassed quite a team. I was a very early investor so I got many cards in the .04 cent to .02 cent range.
I developed a diamond level team every card in the Alpha stage . . . Maxed.
It was a good deck.
But, that's not what I make money on now.
Let's look at just today.
I purchased this:
Selena Sky, Level 4
(We start with Level 1 and as we gain more cards and more powers we eventually end up at Level 4 - Legendaries)
It takes 11 cards to become a Level four in legendaries. I paid $100 dollars.
" One hundred dollars?!
Have you lost your mind? A Digital game? There isn't even a real card you can hold? It's all on the computer!! "
Bear with me.
The cards are registered on the Steem blockchain, so I can prove that it belongs to me.
And here is the thing; I can sell it. I can rent it!
I have 4 that are on rent at the moment. 3 are rented. This 4th one will rent for .14 cents a day with a $2.00 escrow. (If the renter breaks the contract then I get $2.00 for my trouble and to cover a seven-day cooldown in which the card can not be played. (whos gonna want that card?)
We are looking at a %4.11 Roi. a month. 4.11X12 equals %49.32 a year.
That's a good return.
I have some cards that are renting for over %7.00 a month.
I'm buying more cards.
Math is good too me.
Dangers
This is the Bear Whale. Yep, the Bear Whale has had our tail for the last year and a half. (Steem Monster has held steady and grown in this time. Management and development men are top notches. - Arggoed, Yabba Matt are the founders. And a shout out to the entire Slinterlands team.- Get in near the ground and there are riches to be made.)
- Crypto could die and take everything with it.
- Nobody plays Steem monsters.
- Steem monsters fill up with rentals with no renters.
Honestly, I look for the game to keep growing.
Slow and steady is nice. Viral is possible. Exponential is probable.
It's up to you, join the Discord and hang out. Experience the people get to know us, and maybe play the game.

Learn which cards are valuable and rent-well. (just ask)
Or play the game and earn that way. ( I made $130.00 one week before I started to concentrate on a rental business)
This a game and an investment that you will grow to love.
I am Randolph Rope and I have spoken.
