While we do our absolute best to avoid adjusting the stats on cards once they have been released, we have been very clear that we will do so if we feel that it is necessary to maintain a fun and balanced game. Those of you who play in the higher ranks regularly probably know that we're talking about Prince Rennyn.
We keep a close eye on the win rates for every card in the game, and for each Splinter as a whole, in an effort to maintain a balanced meta. The data, coupled with a significant amount of player feedback, clearly indicates that an adjustment is required in this case.
We admit that we did not anticipate how strong his +2 Health buff would be, so as a result we will be updating the stats on the card from [+1 Ranged / +2 Health] to [+1 Ranged / +1 Health / +1 Speed]. The change is expected to go into effect on Wednesday, June 19th at approximately 11 AM ET / 3 PM UTC.
We expect that he will likely remain as the top Summoner in the game after this change, but our hope is that it will make him a bit less dominant.
Going forward we also plan to continue to introduce new rulesets, new cards, and new Monster abilities which will both provide some of the other Splinters with more counters for Prince Rennyn teams, and also serve to keep the game fresh and interesting for players.
