Play Smart & Have Fun
Having played various types of tournaments in the last weeks I have to confess it becomes addictive to battle with all the great folks here on the blockchain but is it all worth your time and brain? The above battle was not worth my time as I got destroyed by - but that happens. Depending on your time management and availability it makes sense to do a bit due diligence before hopping onto every battle fest!
I suggest to follow some basic criteria at least.
Play tournaments with realistic levels. If you have no maxed decks at all Diamond level might be fun but it is hard to come far in the end. There are a lot Silver, Bronze tournaments where you can show your deck building capabilities
Once identified also take a look at the opponents and prizes if this makes sense for you and your deck. You can get most of these details on challenge.com where currently all tournaments are hosted.
Avoid tournaments where 200 people play unless you have maxed decks. There was already a massive tournament on New Year's Eve - great get-together and for the guys with maxed decks (more than one) a fantastic chance but it takes time, patience and in the end the necessary levelled decks to be successful. Unless you just do it for fun - stay away and jump on smaller tournaments. This big ones can easily take 2 hours which required a good time planning as well if you have kids or a day-to-day job.
Have fun and only do what you really want to spend your time for.
