I have a favor to ask you guys, and it's not a referral link nor are any of us going to get rich. But first, some back story....
So recently you may have heard of DrugWars, a unfortunately named game on the steem blockchain. I signed up and have been putting in 5 or 6 clicks a day this week - without battling currently there is not much strategy to the game other than 'Produce more Drugs'.
But the game itself reminded me of my highschool days, playing a browser game known as OGame, short for the very descriptive 'Online Game'. Managed by GameForge, this massive multiplayer online game has millions of players around the world and, in my opinion, is beautifully complex in it's simplicity.
I have lot's of great memories from playing OGame, which I did in two separate occasions. My favorite story to tell is in AP Government class I was furiously scribbling away in my notebook when a classmate known as 'The Animator', still a friend of mine, leaned over, saw what I was doing and exclaimed to the whole class, 'ARE YOU DOING MATH????'. I was in fact doing math; I was manually calculating how many light fighters I would have to build and then crash to get a high chance of a moon developing around my planet.
I think that the team behind DrugWars would do good to study ogame and the way they implement in-game balance, strategy, and purchases are so well implemented that the game remains fun even when you enter late, don't pay to win and even when you don't spend all day doing it.
I was mentioning this to , when he gave me the surprise of the year. 'Steem already has OGame', he told me. It's called
.
Steemnova has been around FOR A LONG TIME!! How did I miss this? I have no idea. But I'm in now, and I am moving up quick! I am currently 5 days in and I already have my second planet - I'm that good!
And I want some friends to play with me!!!
Whether you have or have not heard of OGame, I would encourage you to give it a try. I am willing to teach you my techniques and even team up with you as you get started! There are approximately 250 active players, and I know that because I can see how many are moving fleets of ships around. More are in vacation mode, and even more are inactive (and we will raid them first ;p).
One of OGame's best features is the way it allows groups of smaller players to team up to take down the fleets of larger players. I'm not claiming that we will make it to number one position, but I do think we could have a fun time playing space ships together?
But can I make any money?
Actually yes. The account actually distributes all rewards from the daily post to the players based on their score. It is required to be in an alliance to get this payout. I have not yet joined an alliance, but I was offered membership in several on my very first day. I don't think anyone will be left out, and if we want we can even make our own alliance!
In conclusion, if you are willing to try a classic browser game with me, I will make sure you know everything you need to know to give it a go! As a show of good faith, I will leave you all with one of the most important links of all: The Ogame Fandom Wiki Page!.
Here's the link to get started, no referral necessary: steemnova.intinte.org
If you join and play with me, I will be giving out some Steem Basic Income Shares!
