Talk about a challenge...to all my single parents out there...wow! no amount of words can put that kind of task in perspective...thanks for stepping up to the plate...
Through a series of unfortunate events - my wife had to take off last Wednesday night to go down to Chicago to support our dearly loved sister in law...and John Russel!
This of course was no problem seeing how we have jobs - and school kicked off for our older two this week - I have several teaching gigs in the next week...NBD...it was lots of late nights and early morning for me...and some awesome friends in between - but I am sane...my chillens are all asleep, my wife is almost home - and Ive been able to make some time to steem...
So, I did my best to put on my fun dad pants - and away we went - the pic below maybe whats in your mind of what the goodbye was like...
it was actually reality setting in as mom drove off and me back an forth between two kids...one tears of sorrow the other turning into the hulk...fortunately it was wednesday night and kids eat free at culvers...so I survived...
Thursday and Friday were mostly uneventful...and by that I mean nothing or nobody broke...and the laundry got put away (which can actually be really exciting) - so I tried to make Saturday sweet -
Convinced the three year old its better to ride in a bike trailer then ride is strider (cause that last like 2 minutes before Im carrying his bike and he's too tired to walk) and we headed out to CSU's pre game festivities -
Got down to the stadium and were greeted by some most excellent Army NCO's letting my kids crawl around in a Blackhawk helicopter and Stryker armored vehicle.
A 4 ship of F-16's did the flyover and my pic of that stunk - but of course kids thought it was legit...finished the afternoon off at the pool and the kids were ready for bed!
So I lived...and man want to say again - single parents good on you - and any stay at home mom's and dad's way to parent - you deserve way more then you get credit for, and what day your kids will look back with gratitude and honor at your willingness to lay down your life for them.
Anyway- its late...and bedtime...hope you all have a most excellent weekend -
