It was in 2014 when I decided to be a vegetarian. There were several reasons behind my venture to healthy living (gotta post about it soon). For now, I'll be happy to share to you some of the tips in becoming a vegetarian.
(1) Acknowledge that crave and then overcome!
When I decided to say bye-bye to the crunchy, tasty, fried chicken, I accepted the fact that I'm going to miss it. And I really did. I remember those times when I would smell the aroma of the fried chicken in a restaurant - it was a challenge. I admitted that I'm craving for it but I also determined that I have already made the decision to leave it all behind. I prayed of course for strength to overcoming that craving.
(2) Be kind to others even if they're not vegetarians
I met some vegetarians before. Some of them told me I'm not going to go to heaven if I don't become a vegetarian. That really hurt me. Sometimes when you attend birthday parties or some kind of gatherings, people will get curious of your new lifestyle. If they ask questions, smile, and be kind. Answer them politely. Understand that people have different views in life. Do not criticize. :)
(3) Explore new dishes
Before I changed my lifestyle, I didn't like cooking. But when I did, I was able to embrace the world of cooking. I'm not an expert but I'm really hoping that I'll be able to serve healthy and palatable food. By God's grace, I know I can become a blessing to others whenever I prepare healthy meals for them. Becoming a blessing to humanity is really fulfilling.
