Modern technology is now vital to be a part of any educational system. We all know that learning can take place in a variety of ways. There are existing learning theories that are already being applied in education as well as pedagogies that have been proven in order for a particular content to be more understandable and deliverable to learners, even without strong emphasis with the use of technology. The high potential of technology however to aid learning is undeniable.
We aim of being able to produce learners who are creative and with high aptitude in critical thinking and this becomes easier to achieve through the effective utilization of technology. By utilizing technology to take over repetitive tasks that were traditionally being done by teachers such as, conducting a drill to learners, checking of attendance, test, measurement and evaluation and even an entire delivery of some content in a lesson. Teachers can now focus on the most important aspect of learning such as creating an atmosphere that will tap the emotion of learners about the subject matter. So we can utilize technology to enhance the learner’s intellectual ability such as designing a courseware a computer-aided instruction while the teacher will now facilitate a learning activity that will help learners being able to connect to the content emotionally. When learners are connected to the content emotionally, that means they are motivated and they are able to feel its significance on why they are learning the subject matter, therefore the teaching and learning becomes more intense and sustainable.
Today it is very much possible for us to devise a technology that will utilize the existing theories of learning. The combination for having teacher as a facilitator and the effective infusion of technology based on the applicable learning theories, we as teachers, can certainly deliver the best learning outcome possible.
