First, I extend a fraternal greeting to the entire steemit community! In the course of this major week of the year I have been sharing important sacred compositions of the choral world due to the liturgical period in which we find ourselves.
Today, Good Friday is the day on which the death of Jesus Christ is remembered. The only day of the year in which the Holy Mass is not celebrated in the Catholic Church. The day Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. For this reason today I share the Crucifixus of Antonio Lotti.
Literally, the Crucifixus is a motet that speaks of the crucifixion of Jesus. It is a famous composition with 8 voices of the Italian Antonio Lotti (1667 - 1740) from the late baroque period. This extraordinary counterpoint is written in the key of C minor, giving it the atmosphere of pain that characterizes it. It is one of the best choral pieces to be performed during Holy Week.
I hope you liked this post. There are only two days left of this holy week, where I will continue to share with you the best repertoire of sacred music. Thank you all for the attention and support and I say goodbye inviting them to keep an eye on my future publications ... May God continue to bless you!
