Greetings, steemians! If you follow me on the platform, you will know that this week of the year I am dedicating it to share part of the beautiful sacred choral repertoire to make it known a little more through steemit.
On this occasion, it is their turn to give them the "O Salutaris Hostia" by the composer Ēriks Ešenvalds. A musical jewel dedicated to the body of Christ. They can play the video to harmonize their reading.
O Salutaris Hostia
Ēriks Ešenvalds
The Verbum Supernum was created by Santo Tomas de Aquino and it is customary to sing it in a Gregorian way when praising the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, however, the great musicians of history have turned it into a beautiful motet and now it is used as a song of Offertory, communion and choral piece for concerts.
The composer Ēriks Ešenvalds is an example of this. This contemporary artist Letono reached the top of the global musical recognition in 2012 by publishing the album O Salutaris, with choral pieces made by himself. And of all the Salutaris Hostia that I have been able to listen to and interpret, the work of this young composer is my favorite. The original letter that is interpreted in the O Salutaris is in Latin, and says:
Oh salutaris Hostia,
quae coeli pandis Ostium;
Bella premunt hostiliahostilia.
Da robur fer auxilium.
Uni trinoque Domino.
Sit sempiterna Gloria,
qui vitam sine termino,
nobis donet in patria.
Amen.

With this last video I say goodbye. In it, we can appreciate the acclaimed recording of the album O Salutaris by this great contemporary composer, performed by the Chorus of Trinity University. I hope the post has been liked by all and have learned something new. They are loved, and may God bless them...
