STEEMPRESS & PROMO-STEEM: A PROMOTIONAL IDEA

This post is about promoting Steemit or the Steem Blockchain on the internet using WordPress websites.

This follows a recent chat between me and @Fredrikaa (the co-founder of @Steempress.io) about the #promo-steem / Steem-Ambassador project and he realised there is a "niche reward opportunity" for a collection of people within the communities of SteemPress and #promo-steem.

THAT is a significant amount of Steem Power to fuel the respective projects.

REWARDING QUALITY ONLY

The Hive account@steempress-io account rewards quality authors who use SteemPress, a WordPress plug in. An extract of SteemPress voting pillars is included at the bottom of this post as a footnote, which is taken from their detailed post here. The founders of SteemPress are Hive account@howo and Hive account@fredrikaa.

The @Steem-Ambassador project rewards high quality posts about promoting Steemit and the Steem Blockchain and bringing new people and investment onto the platform. The reward is distributed in a decentralised fashion by an Ambassador guild who curate high quality posts. If any post on the #promo-steem tag attracts an upvote from 3 of the 55+ Ambassadors, it will get an automatic upvote from the Hive account@steem-ambassador account and its associated curation trail.

And so, for the niche idea, this would work as follows:

• Use the SteemPress plug in on a WordPress website
• Write a post on your WordPress website that promotes Steemit or the Steem Blockchain to the external world and ensure the tag #promo-steem is included
• Ensure that you article is of the Highest-Quality

BENEFITS

If you follow these guidelines above, two things will happen:

1. You will have promoted Steemit to a new audience increasing the general awareness and provoking interest in the Steemit platform. This should in the medium-term lead to new users, an increased use of Steemit and the Steem Blockchain and in theory add more value. All of which could lead to improved valuations of STEEM currency and increase the value of your current holding. And in the very least case - you have shared your passion of the platform for others to enjoy.

2. You will be in a good position to earn higher author rewards personally – potentially receiving an upvote from both @Steempress-io and @Steem-Ambassador at the same time!

So that’s it – it’s an idea – it would be interesting to see if this works out for someone and then to see if we can build upon the idea as a community...

And coincidently, whilst writing this post I have actually found a post doing exactly what was envisioned and it is from Sam Hive account@eftnow here. Please look up this post which is sharing the news of the Steem Blockchain and Steemit on a WordPress website. (Unfortunately this is outside of the reward window).

CONCLUSION

If there are over 1,400 SteemPress users there is a reasonable cohort of Steemians who can share the news of the platform to their audience on the world wide web - and if the authors gain attention and write to a high standard they will be rewarded.

These are the three main pillars of Steempress-io voting:
• High votes on quality-curator trails
For the past weeks we have worked closely with a selection of curators with a proven record of caring for quality and avoiding spam and plagiarized content to create a dedicated search tool for them to find content. By trailing their votes on posts made using SteemPress, we hope to both benefit from their experience and dedication to finding great content, while at the same time helping them increase their curation rewards through our trail.
• New user voting pool
All new SteemPress users with an existing blog exceeding a certain age will receive initial welcome upvotes once classified as non-spam original content. We hope this can give new users we onboard who have no previous experience with Steem, but who are quality creators, a good start.
• Randomized votes
Remaining Voting Power is spread randomly across users with a limit of 1 vote per day per user. To prevent rewarding spam, we have an internal blacklist based on our own records, as well as lists from other communities and anti-abuse projects. We also have an internal rating system of quality to ensure that low-quality posts making it through our initial filters do not receive upvotes of considerable weight. Creators with a proven record of quality, on the other hand, will see higher upvotes.
