I'm Roman Catholic, and our seminaries are currently facing a crisis. Not all of them, but some, have a great deal of corruption.
The idea that separating men from the community can be harmful is interesting. I don't entirely disagree. St Charles Borromeo was instrumental in developing our "modern" seminary formation for priests.
That has been unraveling in the States, and it has been disastrous.
