Love, Edea.
"We look at life with curious eyes full of questions, curious eyes that in turn fear the vicissitudes of the universe that surrounds them, hoping to understand everything and nothing and hoping only a blur that ends our suffering without even realizing the importance of now and the happiness that a new life can bring.
The words resounded in Edea's head as he walked outside that building with black walls and glass covered in dirt. The street, although narrow and lonely, was enlarged by the imposing force transmitted by that place.
"She asked herself, "What should I do?
The rain began to fall as the alley passed and returned to the main avenue of Bella Vista. Edea instead walked slowly and let the water flow through his skin, wrapping him up, making him feel that he was "alive" once again, and the answers came to her like the cold drops that claimed his existence.
Only a week had passed since that meeting with her gynecologist.
"Your pregnancy is fine, but you're not. he said, and after a gesture of continued concern. "But I fear you must decide a path soon. It's your life or the child's."
"Decide? it was my life at stake!"
Perhaps he had said that only a few days ago, but his approach was different now. He had exchanged his worries, his fears and insecurities for a new sense of his perception of existence and had to dedicate himself to maintaining that new focus.
The streets flooded and some people screamed or complained about the situation, yet Edea continued to walk in the rain, with a prominent smile and her eyes filled with a light that motivated her to move forward.
Only two weeks later Edea gave birth to a little girl.
"Elisabeth... my little Elisabeth"
The baby cried, shouted and shuddered in the arms of the doctor, who after cleaning her and cutting the umbilical cord approached Edea and placed the little one in his arms.
Elisabeth was silent and lay down on her mother's breast, feeling the warmth of her body and receiving what would be the last breath that left behind a life to give way to the existence of a new dawn. Elisabeth was alive and Edea will always be.
