Sanctus
Dimitri: When was the last time I read this?
Perseus: I don't know, my lord.
Deben: A century or maybe more?
Dimitri: Humans are charming beings, too bad their time does not happen the same as mine. Although to tell the truth, once my time passed the same as yours.
The days arose one after the other in the ruins of Saucet north of Pangea. In them, Dimitri and his fanatics made place day after day in the search to perfect the hidden arts that he had already acquired many centuries before. In that opportunity already lost in his memory, he had found those ruins after going to the mountains to meditate together with his beloved wife Anet, nevertheless, a voice called him from the north and little by little he was advancing until that hidden place in the high.
Don't touch him Dimitri!
STOP!
From then on, his life did not become his and he locked himself in the power he had obtained in that place, forgetting everything and everyone he once loved, becoming part of that nightmare that ate him for generations as he became a being of eternal life.
Later civilizations would find that place forgotten and Dimitri, realizing that there were still vestiges of humanity circling Pangea, decided to create a sect that would worship him as their only true god.
Perseus:My lord. We have discovered a writing in the ruins at the bottom of this place.
Dimitri: Something that's important?
Deben:In its title it bears the name of Sanctus.
Dimitri: Give it to me right now!
In spite of possessing the gift of eternal life, Dimitri sought more power by means of what the universe had given him, he did not feel satisfied and the desire to possess more and more became greater with the passing of the centuries. During all that time he was investigating the way to activate that great mechanism that was inside the ruins, however, its failure was evident and each period had to sacrifice more people in the search of some clue to achieve its ultimate end.
The document contained language that only Dimitri seemed to understand. His face had changed completely and the eccentricity made him burst out laughing as he read every part of it.
Deben:With that we can get your gifts, sir?
Perseus:We have lost many men digging into the bottom of this observatory, the blessing may come from their hand as they come upon this discovery.
Dimitri: Shut up once and for all!
Dimitri walked to the center of the room and stood right in front of the machinery that was there. After this he whispered a few words and the whole building began to tremble.
Dimitri: Querubish... Sanctus.
He lifted up his hand and a light began to shine before him; around him rocks levitated shaping the shattered pieces of those ruins. Their two most faithful believers who were there, looked astonished at the scope of this power and wondered if from now on they could reach part of that greatness.
Dimitri: It's working!
Deben: Sir?! What's wrong!
Dimitri: Quiet, Deben! A new era is beginning!
A vortex of light was created and several wheels spun around at maximum speed creating a strong blizzard within those ruins. Dimitri looked with insanity at that fact and slowly approached that light.
Dimitri: It's time to start a new era!
The vortex light completely covered Dimitri and the structure that was now beginning to crumble through the roof of the observatory. Perseus and Deben ran to avoid being crushed to death and watched as that light began to grow in size and shape as a giant creature began to make way for its world.
Deben:What's that thing?
Perseus:I don't know. Will he be our lord?
The light crossed the sky of Pangea and the voice echoed throughout the immensity of that place. A winged beast surrounded by crystals gave itself space and all the people looked at it terrified from the different areas of the observatory.
Perseus:So many centuries adoring Mr. Dimitri...
Deben:Generations after generations.
Perseus:That's not a god! That's a demon!
The imposing words of that creature caused an immense fear within both of them. Dimitri no longer existed in that world, or so it seemed.
Perseus:That's Sanctus...
