Remy Martin

Yes, I dared to take this shot. It was at CIGAR BAR in Fort Myers, FL. I figured after I won 400-500 in the casino in Ft. Lauderdale I could blow the money. Haha. Oh well... It was a good shot of cognac, but I wouldn't give it any more than that. So, worth the money... No. Worth the experience... maybe. Lol. I walked in and ordered a well gin and ginger ale, same as usual, and the bartender said "if you were going to order the Remy Martin I would have recommended a better starter. Haha". He then gave me a glass of soda water and a "well" cognac shot on the house since I was getting the expensive one.

My Tasting Notes

Very light at first taste, but a very strong aftertaste. Once you breathe out you are like whoa. Worth the $150... "I'll tell you in a few minutes" is what I thought. Lol. The box it comes in is worth about $700. Here if you are the finisher of the bottle you get it plus the box. The bottle is made out of crystal, so it is very expensive as well. Aged at least 60 years. It is fucking amazing (after about 15 minutes haha). The bartender has a story from every time someone has bought the shot, from regulars to drunk wanderers. Can I have another?

The Bartender's Stories

The bartender was a cool guy. He has been working there for a while. I've gotten to know him a little bit, but there are a lot of people that work there and at the other location I go to by FGCU. He told me and my friend a similar story a few years back. Usually when the bottle is finished a round is bought for several people, so the buyer can take home the box and bottle. I figure you can buy 5 shots and make your money back off of the bottle, so you might as well do it in that case. He said it never got down past two shots except for once. The girl that bought it was trashed and she followed it with a slice of pizza from next door. Lol. For his last birthday the owner broke it out and bought a round for the bar regulars. Pretty cool guy!
