In my line of work, I have the privilege to minister to the lives of the children. I have every opportunity to make the children know about God and Jesus. Some families in our centre do not believe in the Bible, or are not Christians. But because I work in a Christian school, where there are no policies against teaching Christian values and faith, I have the liberty and freedom to be able to instil in the hearts and minds of our little ones who Jesus is and how much God loves them. Children ask a lot of questions and one of my missions is to encourage them to gain deeper understanding of God's great love for them, that they are wonderfully made by Him, and that they are special in His eyes.
It is, indeed, a huge blessing to have this privilege to teach the young children and to be able to pray for them and with them. Some children even volunteer to pray, so I let them and guide them in their prayer. Take note that my little ones are aged 3 to 5 years old. Their prayers are about thanking their Mums and Dads, their friends, their teachers, or the food in their lunch boxes. Some of them also pray for their sick friend or pet. They also thank God for having a beautiful day, for the sunshine, for the animals, and for creating the world. There was a child that put his hand up for prayer, and he just went on and on, as if he was just having a conversation with God, telling God about his recent holiday trip. That was priceless and so special hearing from a four-year old child.
This reminds me of the verse found in Matthew 19:14:
But Jesus said, "Let the children come to Me, and do not hinder them; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."
