And today on friday it's generic silver time again. We're going to look at the barbados trident, a beautiful marine coin released in 2017.
Obverse
The coin features a stunning wave design on the front which reminds me of the steem logo. Right in the centre of this wave pattern lies a trident with mirror finish. This trident is the national symbol of Barbados. It is also displayed on the Barbadian flag. Around the trident is the writing "ONE DOLLAR" along with the fineness of .999 silver. The piece weighs 1 troy ounce and has a relatively low mintage of 30,000 coins.
Reverse
The reverse of the piece shows the coat of arms of Barbados. It's a very beautiful motive showing a fig tree right in the center. Alongside the fig tree are a pelican to the right and a dolphin fish. Not to be confused with a dolphin, two very different animals. Underneath the fig tree is Barbados national motto: "PRIDE AND INDUSTRY". The whole coat of arms is flanked by two small tridents and the date 2017.Conclusion
Hope you liked this little silver coin. Have you heard of Barbadian silver coins before or do you even own a few yourself?
