After entering so many raffles and not having any luck, I finally got a 3rd place in one of 's raffles. Woohoo!!!! My luck has started to change. What was the prize, you may be asking. "A $1 FV CONSTITUTIONAL SILVER". I really had no clue what that meant, but I was stoked to have finally got a... well... third place win! A win is still a win!
Then the package arrived last night, after a long trip half way around the world.
I was super excited, but had to rush out to a meeting. First thing I did when I got back, before eating dinner, was sit down and open it up, and what did I find? Not one coin. THREE!!!!
Look at these silver pieces of history. The common term for these are "Junk Silver Coins." But they are far from junk.
That's not just three coins. They're silver, have value, and they also have history. Look at these dates..
A 1890 (0.77oz) Morgan Silver Dollar. A 1968 Kennedy 40% Silver Half Dollar. A 1943 (35%) Silver Nickel.
That's 128 years of history and travel for the dollar, 50 years for the half, and 75 years for the nickel. Who know where these coins have been, and what they've seen. Now they've found their way around the world and into my stack, where they'll stay for many more years to come.
Thanks for the extra coins. That was a very generous gesture, and really brightened up my day!
Stackitus dosed up for now, but a new interest in finding more junk silver has sparked.
