So in typical style I wrote half of a post last night. Then..... πππππππ΄π΄π€ #sleeppost!
So boring it put ME to sleep! π€£π
Then esteem didnβt save the post. π It just disappeared somewhere in the tubes of the internet. So, tonight we try again.
I have been buying a stupid amount of silver lately. After a looooong dry spell, I even had some success at my local coin shop yesterday. π Tonight seems a good a time as any to show off some of the new shiny.
Hyper-local
Two of yesterdayβs silver purchases had a distinctly local flavor!
First up is a silver trade unit from the Northwest Territorial Mint. I had been hoping to find this round for awhile. I love the map of the Pacific Northwest (my little corner of the world). The round shows all or part of the US states Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming and Utah. It also shows a few of the major cities and mountain ranges. The coolest part is you can see and FEEL the topography on this round! Love it! The round is one troy ounce, .999 pure and was minted in 1990.
Next is a round celebrating the centennial of Washington State. Issued in 1989, this round also promotes the long defunct Security Pacific Bank of Washington. It is .999 fine and also one troy ounce. On the face of the round is an image of George Washington (first President of the United States) with the outline of the state in the background.
YAY for local stuff!!! π
Time to hit post before π΄π΄...
