Have you ever just wanted to be a pirate? Tonight was one of those nights, we had a need for a treasure hunt fix!
Due to our lack of boat and map and crew,
We did the next best thing-we gathered up our change, We piled in the car, and as we did not make it to the bank today before it closed, off to Coinstar we went.
We ended up with a roll of Quarters, a roll of nickels, a roll of dimes and 2 rolls of pennies and 9 cents,
K dove right in and starting with the quarters we found 5 ATB's we did not have inclduing some older ones which was exciting!
we found a 2010 Oregon P which is from the first year of issue and now our oldest one!
The nickels were a bust as K was looking for 2009's after the one @Slackerstacker sent us and told us about it being a key date and also the year K was born. We did find a 1960 and K decided it was really old so we should save it, because it will be really, really old when he shows his grand kids, LOL He is pretty funny and it is cool to think he will save it that long.
the dimes were a total fail but we had fun checking, Finally we checked out the 2 rolls of pennies.
This was our best find of the night! a 1919 Wheat penny, this is our oldest coin by almost 20 years!! K was very excited and we feel we are getting closer to finding that 1909 we are hoping for!
It is in rough shape but then again it is 99 years old!
we also found 12 copper pennies:
All in All a good time and some neat finds. Our Treasure hunt fix has been applied and The coins were not our only treasure found while at our local Coinstar!
Have a great Night and Happy Stacking!
