Its that time again! After work today, I put the torch and crucible to work.
I dug out one of my baggies of scrap sterling and weighed out how much I thought I could melt
Alright, 34.4 grams of .925 sterling silver ready to met it's maker...
The first pic is of this melting, It's hard to take many pictures with a torch in one hand and a crucible in the other hand, lol😆
That definitely needs to be cleaned up! My rotary tool will do that, a little wire brush, then a Polish wheel.
And with it all congregated in the middle of the scale, it's final weigh in. And it seems to be a bit heavier than before...
There it is then, a 35.1g pillow of sterling, or 32.46g silver weight.
I'm going to try to melt about twice that amount now, stay tuned for tomorrow's post!
