A 1 Troy ounce silver coin must at least weigh 1 Troy ounce but today we are gonna see what they exactly weigh (behind the comma) and how much free silver each offers.
What do we need?
A scale in gramms to be more precise, some tubes full of coins, gloves and that's all.
What did I measure ?
I took two times 5 different coins of each type and measured the total (see pics).
Be aware that 5 troy ounces is 155.52 gramms which is the minimum the 5 coins must weigh in total.
Pictures please:
Conclusions:
They all weigh more than the minimum for 5 coins of 155.52 or 31.104 per coin
Philharmonics : 156.71+156.74 = 313.45 / 10 = 31.345 gramm per coin on average (0.77% extra or 11 cent per coin free)
Maples : 156.25 +156.25 = 312.50 / 10 = 31.250 gramm per coin on average (0.46% extra or 7 cent extra per coin free)
Now who can do the ASE as I have none...…………
bye
