I only just started to consciously stack metals with intention and purpose in early 2017. I initially discovered the importance of this practice from the youtube community yet most of the videos I had watched were already a couple of years old by that point. I am however pretty happy that I was late to the scene because metals prices have been smashed down significantly since the time those videos were made and subsequently, I have been able to amass much more than I would have when the spot prices were higher. 2017 was my time to shine and I have no regrets about being late to the game! All good things come in their own time!
Since I first started stacking, my preferences and fancies have changed and evolved. Like so many other stackers in their first year, I bought a wide variety of different different things, some of which I will stick with and others I will do away with. Now that I have more knowledge and know what I like, I figured that now is a good time to set some goals for the new year!
Below are some pictures of what I'd like to add to my stack in 2018 and I think that these goals are doable while still balancing my other expenses and planning a wedding!
Let's take a gander, why don't we?
Being that I live in the US, the American Silver Eagle has been delegated as a staple in my stack. It is strategic for its high recognizability and liquidity. It also makes a killer gift for anyone and for any occasion! Super handy to have these lying around in prosperous times or for when shit hits the fan! I plan on purchasing 3 mint tube (60x 1oz coins) over the course of the year. I used to buy all different types of 1 oz coins issued from different countries but I will go primarily American for Strategic purposes for now on!
I've always wanted one of these hand poured Scottsdale silver 10 oz bars. I'm a huge fan of 10 oz poured bars in general and just need this one to grace my safe!
I am somewhat of a sentimental person and will always have pride for the land that I was born in. Because I was born in Canada and love 10oz bars, I'd like to add one of these bars to my stack each year!
Let's talk about some gold! I initially caught that silver fever but in recent months I have been leaping into the gold! I already stated my opinions about stacking American coins for strategic reasons. The American Gold eagle is Iconic and an excellent way to store the value of your labor into a tiny space for long periods of time. I am making the intention now to procure a 1/4 gold eagle to add to my (still tiny) gold pile!
The pre-1933 US Gold Eagles were coins that were minted for circulation before 1933. They are solidified as legendary symbols in US and World Monetary history. Although there have been numerous different designs throughout their time period, the design that resonates most to me is the side profile of lady liberty in Greco-Roman side profile style! I really would like to put my hard in cash into a $10 Gold eagle this upcoming year to give to the grandkids one day!
I never thought I'd ever have an affinity for the British Gold Sovereign, but since one came into my possession this year, that all changed! I really love the reverse of this coin and definitely would love another!
The very first edition of the STEEM silver round was and epic smash hit! I am so looking forward to the 2018 edition! I will be on the sharp look-out for this and may even try my hand at designing it! Time will tell!
Last but not least, I found this ring online and am now hinting to my fiancé that it would make a very handsome wedding band! Obviously this will mean so much more than just part of my stack to me, but I think that it would very much be my style! We'll see! haha
I sure do have a lot of goals in terms of stacking this year, so let's see if I can reach them! It may be slightly lofty but I think its important to aim high and formulate a plan in advance! It's better to shape and set goals and fall short then to not set them at all. In the end of the day, I think that people are generally better off if they really know what they want in life and where they are going!
I'm looking so forward to growing, building and sharing with you guys!
Much love, respect and prosperity for us all!
