What the hell is up with that post title? North Dakota? Quarters? ookay. Sure.
Well here's the Story. About 6 months ago my Grand Father passed away. It was June before we could get the whole family together to have a celebration of life for him. So, a couple of weeks ago, we gathered together in Dayton Ohio to celebrate.
One of the things my grandfather left behind was his collection of the United States Quarters.
My mother is the oldest of her siblings, so she had first right of refusal on a lot of the little things that my grandfather left behind. He worked diligently at collecting these quarters, and spent years finding them in pocket change.
My mom picked up the quarter set asking me if my son would like it. He definitely did, but we had to have a discussion with him that these quarters were NOT to be spent, they were part of the collection and needed to be cherished. He agreed, so we agreed that we would like to have the set.
Well... somewhere in transportation, or with three kids flipping this display board open and closed a couple of times, quarters fall out. For the most part, you just pick up the quarter and put it back in. But in the case of North Dakota, somehow it got lost. It's probably laying on the floor in some corner of my mom's house, or maybe even in my step-dad's car from the trip from Dayton to Indiana and then to Kentucky where I met them. But wherever it is, it is not in the display board.
So now I am looking for this bad boy:
I need to find a North Dakota Quarter to re-complete my grandfather's collection. I've found some uncirculated that I could buy, but that wouldn't fit in with this board. These are quarters that have seen some wear and tear. Putting a uncirculated in would stick out like a sore thumb. So I am hoping one of you stackers out there can help me find a quarter that will fit in with the rest of this collection.
Can you check your pocket change, your stash of change being saved for a rainy day, or what have you and see if you have a North Dakota lying around?
I'm offering 1 SBD for the value of the quarter and the cost of a postage stamp to send it to me. I don't suppose there is a need for special shipping for a quarter is there?
If one of you fine Silver shop owners happens to have one of these laying around, I will place an order with you for an ounce or more of silver to ship the quarter with and make it worth your time.
Thanks guys! I appreciate the help in re-completing my Grandfather's collection!
