Golden greetings and silver salutations! I have a confession to make, I break a cardinal rule of stacking. I do not test coins to ensure they are authentic. I normally only buy from the "big boys", you know, JM Bullion, APMEX, and the like. However, I bought one of my #Stackingoals coins and I am worried about it.
First off, here is the coin:
It is the 2017 Falkland Islands "Brittania Rules the Waves" Variation. The seller has a great rating and over 10,000 transactions. So why am I worried?
Here is what the corrected version of the coin I have looks like:
Notice how they are in plastic (with a hologram that says Pobjoy Mint) while the variation coin is in an Air-Tite. Why would the same coin be packaged differently? I found other examples of the variation on E-Bay that were packaged like my 5 "corrected" coins.
The seller seems to have lots of these coins available. Also, there are other auctions for the variation that look like they are in the same Air-Tite cases.
When I looked back at the current listing on SilverGoldBull.com, it says that they will ship in sheets of 20. The E-Bay listing says the coins would have blemishes due to being stacked in a tube. This coin definitely has some blemishes, which I am fine with, but were the coins ever sold in tubes or only sheets?
So #SteemSilverGold community, what do you recommend I do? I do not have one of those rare earth magnets. If I wanted to get one, what are they called? I don't have a coin scale either. Have you ever asked your LCS to see if they would look at a coin for you?
What are your thoughts? Have a great night and keep supporting #SteemSilverGold and #TheAlliance!
