Well, I was off yesterday, so it was time to find some silver deals. Went to several different pawn shops, most where either low or had sold out of silver, WONDER WHY THAT IS? So there is a little town about 30 miles from where I live, so I tried my luck there.
Found a decent amount of silver the pawn shop was trying to sell. One thing that I have found out is, Pawn shops are either over priced, or under priced, and most of my luck has come from rural pawn shops out in the smaller cities, or maybe we should call this one a town, dont think it was big enough to be classified as a city.
But here is what I was able to pick up, 2016 silver Maple Leaf.
I was able to pick these up for $17.80 USD. So that put them $1.20 over spot. Now $1.20 is a little more than I would normally pay for a 1oz coin, but they where in really good shape. Very few milk spots, for those that do not know about the milk spots, it seems to be almost normal for maple leafs to have spots on them.
Picked up 22 in all, of course I picked the 22 best looking ones.
Those ugly rounds are proof that its me.
A little history about the Maples.
First mint was done in 1988 by the Royal Canadian Mint, they have been minted annually since then.
They have a micro-inscibed radial lines, which makes it very difficult ro counterfeit.
Maple leaf is the national symbol of Canada.
Since 2010, Minting of the Maple Leaf have surpassed 17 million minted each year.
