On one of my very early YT videos I showed a video of a 1 pound (14.58ozt) silver round commemorating Texas' 150 years of Independence from Mexico.
Soon after posting the video some viewers mentioned to me that I should get the half dollar. At the time I didn't know one existed. I had assumed the pound was designed for Texas' Sesquicentennial. Turns out it was a replica of the Commemorative Half dollar minted 50 years earlier for Texas' Centennial.
I looked into the prices and they were just too rich for my blood. Eventually I found a pretty good deal at a coin show when I happened to be carrying enough fiat to make the deal and not feel like a sucker.
And here she is:
The lighting isn't great in here.
I prefer video because you can catch the subject at different angles. For instance the shield behind Sam Houston's face is hard to make out on this pic, but the detail is there. The coin will make it onto my YT eventually.
