Evening everyone......
Well I’m awaiting two packages from two of the most epic silver pouring masters, I thought that I’d share another one of my Morgan’s with you.
Today for your viewing pleasure....
I present to you a 1902 Philadelphia Strike Morgan Silver Dollar. This coin has been graded by PCGS as an MS64. It is also in a first generation holder know as a rattler holder.
I know that I have explained the old generation holders before, but just in case.....
When PCGS first started in the early 80’s. This was the very first holder that they used. PCGS was extremely strict with their grading back then, probably too strict. These first generation holders known as rattler holders have a very very high success rate for upgrades.
I have personally upgraded over a dozen coins from these holders. One Walking Liberty Half Dollar upgraded two full grades. Which made my $135 purchase of the coin, go to an $800 valued coin. While that is very uncommon, it does still happen.
So enough with the lecture, here is the coin.
