In 1968, the US Congress established the last Monday in May Memorial Day, a nationwide day of remembrance honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military in US history.
May 29, 2019 is Memorial Day in the US.
My grandfather served during World War II and was with the detail sent to the Philippine Islands after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
The legacy of heroes and patriots never die.
During a day of celebration in Hawaii in 2006, and as part of the 65th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, this Commemorative Set was given out to participants and attendees:

The first round is a commemorative for the Pearl Harbor Memorial, and the second round commemorates The Surrender of Japan to the US which was done in the USS Missouri.
These silver rounds are high relief with fantastic details: the waters, the ships, and its' weaponry, the flag. The rounds are reeded around until that area where the letterings for the weight and purity where the edge is smooth.
I dedicate this article to my Grandfather, my Dad and Mom, and two brothers who all served in the US Military. I will never never forget you.
