**Like some stackers, I am an accidental coin collector. **
I never intended to have a Ship Coin collection going, but circumstances just led me to it.
This set of Portuguese Escudoswas an appreciation give from a YouTuber friend, BeachBum Silver. These are silver coins of 2-1/2, 5 and 10 escudos. The Caravelle, sailing vessel of the XVth century is shown in the obverse of the coin.
Perhaps you seen this next one from a previous post. It is the 1949 Canada George VI Commemorative Silver Dollar which depicts the vessel The Matthew on the reverse of the coin, a gift from .
I purchased this next coin as an appreciation gift. This is the first year issue of the 2017 Rwanda Nautical series, The Santa Maria. This is, once again, a coin that did not make it to the intended recipient. I decided that it will not be as appreciated as much as I intended, so I changed my mind. These things happen, LOL! In fact, this is the only second time I will look at this coin from when I bought it the week it hit the market. It is a beautiful coin, and I am looking forward to the 2018 release.
And now, my newest ship coin: The Cook Island 2018 Silver Bounty coin that depicts an image of the sailing vessel Bounty on the reverse, and of course, Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. The design features a "net" like design in the field that adds dimension to the coin.
A very small but steadily growing collection of ship coins.
Slow and steady wins the race!
Thank you, steemit friends, for allowing me to share these coins with you. I hope to see you again in my next post!
