Those who know me know how much I love the designs that come out of the Golden State Mint. Chris Duane's sardonic wit has brought such great designs as "Merry Consumerism" and "God Save the Criminal Elite".
But, I think that one of his most recent designs goes above and beyond when it comes to dripping with irony. I am of course talking about "George Washington - Domestic Terrorist"!
Just imagine if our first, and greatest, president had to deal with Twitter, social networks, and CNN. He would have been labeled a war-mongering, insane, mentally unstable, gun-loving, right-wing ,isolationist, dangerous domestic terrorist. MSNBC would have a never ending string of wounded Red Coat "peace keepers" denouncing his barbaric acts. Twitter and YouTube would have deleted George Washington's accounts while Facebook would promote General Cornwallis' blog. The Declaration of Independence would be called an Alt-Right Manifesto and it's signers would be dox-ed out to hate mobs like Torrie Lives Matter.
It is amazing that we are still a country.
