What’s up Steemit, today I’m going to show you my Muscle Men delft clay cast. Back in the 80’s, probably the best time to ever be a kid, there were many different things to play with. So many things of greatness that nowadays the manufacturers try to recreate the passion and drive from those toys from the 80’s but nothing will ever compare in my opinion.
One of those beautiful creations from the 80’s toy lines was one of these little dudes here, M.U.S.C.L.E Men.
This piece is just one of MANY that I’ll be producing in the future. Some are a bit tricky and I’ll need to lost wax cast but some are good enough to sand cast. I’ve tried a few times on a few and failed but this one has turned out fantastic!
There’s so much detail all over these little guys that pretty much a perfect cast is necessary because flashing on the piece will disrupt the detail.
These guys are about 2” tall and 1 1/2” wide. There’s is very tight spacing with lots or room for errors.
They are rubbery so they move in the mold making them harder to cast.
This piece is weighing in at 2 Troy ounces and like I said, I’ve got a bunch more coming. I’ve put an antique on this piece I call Black Bear Crome😏 and I believe it is a thing of beauty!
I hope you enjoyed this post today, I appreciate y’all and I’ll see you tomorrow✌🏻
