Hi friends,
Tonight i restrung the guitar that hangs in the living room.
Usually, a guitar player will change strings every few months when they’re playing, or at least that is my experience. When Mrs. D and i hooked up 5 years ago she already had this guitar, and it had the very same strings i removed tonight! I had bought fresh strings — in disgust — about two years ago, but i had delayed the task of restringing Mrs. D’s Fender until this afternoon.
Perhaps that illustrates how concerned with new strings I have been, ‘cause even the strings on my own Larivée haven’t been changed in several years. But that too is gonna’ change...
I’ve got some lil’ asskickers to raise and teach the important things to.
Sometimes life gets hectic i guess, and certainly my two boys keep me busy, but i have recently been making some time to pick up my guitar and play, and it feels great!
I found a couple youtube videos that opened up some new stuff to practice and think about, and i’m working on a few covers as well as trying to remember how songs that i have written actually go. At any rate, it feels really good, and i am
happy to be singing songs again. Maybe i’ll have a hyper-low-budge SSG exclusive release video-a-palooza raffle-o-matica if my fingies stop complaining 😜
I would encourage anyone, player or not, to pick up a guitar and learn a few chords — it’s fun!
