Sheesh!!! Can guy get away from the stackitus?
Today was another great day of stacking and rolling with the assassin! He’s been on a tear lately and sharing some of his skills with his old man. Today i left him with my Ma for an hour and boogied out the door for some errand running (read: Ag shopping 😜)
First i called Van Gold and asked about inventory — they’ve been out for a week! — there was something there so i asked them to put it on hold for me and stomped on the gas with both feet! Got this lil’ baby for $23.50cad — Zoinks!!!
Low mintage number, and “hello gorgeous,” an awesome depiction of the Royal Hudson — a legendary locomotive — on the back. It used to do the Vancouver/Whistler/Pemberton run (and i’m sure others) but i remember going on this train as a kid. At any rate, though i have several Western Bars, this is the first i’ve seen with cool shit on the back — great toning too! I am still agog that they let these things go for so cheap!

Well who ever buys just one ounce or has just one beer? So i rolled up the street to J&M and had a sniff around. Y’arrrgh! More dimes and some ‘67 quarters. Well hell! If i buy ‘em i won’t have to be tempted by them again. Nathan was feeling friendly so i got a great price on them.
A few more ‘67 dimes and quarters, and then about 50 pre ‘67 dimes. A good little haul for about $100!
I guess i could’ve bought 4 more “Plucked Taxpayer” rounds for a few dollars less, but there’s something about the minted “junk”, especially when it’s in killer condition, that just makes me want it. To be honest, my “strategy” for stacking is very ill-defined. I thought i was out of the woods with coin collecting, and had planned to switch to ouncing up the 999+, but, well, you know how it is: the stackitus makes ya do crazy stuff.
Speaking of stacking ounces. Have you got your 2018 Steem Rounds yet?
It’s looking like there will again be produced 1500 rounds — and that is all! The ‘Communi-Tree’ is sure to be a stunner and will very likely be super pricey on the secondary market once they start landing. There were some peeps last year that made a bundle because they had the foresight to ounce up early when the time was right.
So have you got yours yet!!!?
Here’s my order from early this morning. I have found that having some bitcoin available and a couple of cold beers with a wee nip o the dram, is an excellent strategy for buying more metal online 😜😜😜 it’s a good thing i might’a had one too many, ‘cause i was over slobbering on the Menē page with hovering thumbs before i conked out! As well, there are several Mafiosos that i need to contact — i got a few problems i need taken care of...
Swing batter, batter, batter — there is one of the “COA selects” that i can’t wait to gift... Moo ah ha haaaaaa!!!

Precious has been doling out the booty to our collective, and scooping it up off the sea floor. Her song is one you wish you never hear — or you’ll be throwing your loot overboard too! But there are some fun things happening around SSG — check it out! Re-work a fave or a classic with some gnarly new lyrics and lay it down!
I offered up a Supertramp song, and 510 reworked “Bad to the Bone.” My idea here is that once we get a few sweet rewrites, we can publish lyric sheets that members will be able to take out to Karaoke bars/parlours and record themselves singing — and then post that shit here!
Get on it folks! I promise there will be some shiny up for grabs with this one — but you know, on damus time...
Make sure you get your 2018’s pronto though, ‘cause this opportunity is going to evaporate quickly.
