I started a series on some brass rounds that I got that were made by the Alaska Frontier Mint. If you aren't caught up here are Post 1, Post 2, Post 3, Post 4, and Post 5.
Today it's a Bear!
Alaska is known for many things. Bears is one thing that Alaska does really well. They have
Brown Bears (which includes the subspecies of Grizzly Bear and Kodiak Bear)
Black Bears (not pictured)
Bear attacks aren't common in Alaska, but they do happen, so it's important to watch out for bears, especially in the wild. If you're camping, make sure to secure your food so the bears can't get it. Also, stay away from a mother bear with her cubs.
That's the Bear Token!
And of course, The Big Dipper on the other side. The texture almost makes it look like there are a bunch of other stars on the round as well.
- Have you ever seen a bear in the wild?
