It's important to celebrate important events and milestones like birthdays, anniversaries, Fridays, other days that end in "y." Today was one of those momentous occasions, Silver Quarter Day! My wife and I needed to do a groceries run, and there's a coin store not too far away from the Trader Joe's. Of course I was happy to help get the groceries!
I've been saving the nickels and dimes from my paper route. I also dug through the couch cushions for some extra supplies. Remind me to start inviting more people over who keep change in their pockets. I'm going to start putting up fliers.
Anyhow, after the we got food, we stopped at the LCS on the way home. I didn't have much time since we had frozen stuff, but I knew I needed to check out the pre-1965 coins. Those 90% silver beauties had been calling my name for a while and my "normal" LCS doesn't carry those. At $13 for $1 of face value, I couldn't complain.
As I was digging through the stacks of coins that were barely recognizable, I stumbled on a few of these shiny ones. Then I found a few more. Here's the Eagle.
Here's the other side of it.
It seems that someone brought in a roll of them, all in really good condition. I made the noob mistake of not being prepared for such a find, so I wasn't able to get all of them, but I did pick up $3 worth of 1963 and 1964s.
Here's a picture of all my new friends together.
They wanted to do a "fun pose" for you all.
Alright, it's time for my new buddies to go meet the rest of the family in storage.
Thanks for coming along on this fun adventure with us. Until next time!
